Can I count up after zero?

A stopwatch-after-zero option is available.

Will it work in a background tab?

It should fire near the right time. Some mobile browsers pause timers.

Can I share a countdown URL?

Yes. The target instant is in the query string.

Is this a calendar invite?

No.
